Much calmer than its sibling, the Mandla Stream, Lightning stream was named for its jaggedness. It is easy to cross, so long as you avoid the crocodiles and hippos.

A small waterhole that disappears in the dry season and reappears in the rainy season. When it is absent, herbivores in the eastern end of Temper Plains must travel far each day for water.

These plains are notorious for catching aflame in the dry season. Some believe this to be the result of an angered god sending lightning down onto the land.

This tight cluster of jagged mountains has a lot of runoff that trickles into a small river. The terrain is steep and twisted with thick forestry, making it difficult to traverse.
